The power generation means comprises a number of cylinder/piston assemblies (10,20) that are just below the level of the road surface. The passage of a vehicle over the piston/cylinder assemblies causes the pitons to generate an airflow that can be conveyed by pipes (30,34,35) to a wind turbine assembly.
