<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery that offers a high volume energy density while inhibiting the occurrence of thermal runaway, and a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: A lithium ion secondary battery 10 includes: an electrode body 21 including a positive electrode sheet 24 and a negative electrode sheet 25 that form a layered structure and each include an active material layer; a nonaqueous electrolyte containing a nonaqueous solvent and an electrolyte salt dissolved therein; and a case 11 for accommodating the electrode body 21 and the nonaqueous electrolyte. The lithium ion secondary battery 10 further includes a polymerization agent 31 for gelatinizing the nonaqueous electrolyte by polymerization; and a polymerization agent capsule 30 including a resin film 30a that is composed of a material with a melting point lower than the thermal runaway temperature, and separates the polymerization agent 31 from the nonaqueous electrolyte, and the positive electrode sheet 24 and the negative electrode sheet 25, in the case 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
