Dividing cloud resources

A method and apparatus for dividing resources provided by cloud computing systems is described. In one embodiment, the method includes receiving a specification of a subset of cloud computing systems from among a plurality of cloud computing systems. The method may also include joining the subset of cloud computing systems into a pool of cloud computing resources. Furthermore, the method may include providing access to the pool of cloud computing resources.

1. A method comprising:
receiving, by a processing device, a specification of a first cloud computing system; associating the first cloud computing system with a pool of cloud computing resources; identifying a second cloud computing system associated with the pool of cloud computing resources, wherein the identifying is performed in view of a client request and at least one of a parameter of the second client computing system or a parameter of a client which originated the client request; translating, by the processing device, the client request from a cloud system-neutral format into a cloud system-specific format associated with the second cloud computing system; and forwarding the translated request to the second cloud computing system.
