<p>PURPOSE: A local dimming method of a light source, a light-source apparatus performing for a method and a display apparatus having the light-source apparatus are provided to prevent glare and improve contrast by changing the luminance of an emitting block according to a size of an emitting area having a highest luminance. CONSTITUTION: An optical source module(200) provides a light to a display pane which is divided into a plurality of display blocks. The optical source module includes a plurality of emitting blocks corresponding to a plurality of display block. A local dimming driving unit(270) changes the luminance of the light-emitting block included in the first light emission regions according to the size of the first light emission regions of the optical source module. The local dimming driving unit includes a central value output unit, a region decision unit, a luminance decision unit, and an LED driving unit. The luminance decision unit determines the first luminance level of the first light emission regions, and the LED driving unit operates the light-emitting block included in the first light emission regions according to the first luminance.</p> |
