The present invention relates to a background motion compensation method using a multi-homography scheme for separating a background area to accurately detect a moving target in an obtained image in an environment that a monitoring device is moving and correcting the motion. The present invention relates to the background motion compensation method using the multi-homography scheme including the steps of: calculating motion vectors for displaying background motion; generating a multi-homography matrix; and detecting the moving target.
