摘要 The present invention provides a medical device for insertion into a body, the device having at least one surface covered by and attached to at least one detachable cover and at least one surface hole, such as the cover encapsulate and seals the medical device. The cover can be detached and pulled off the device which remains in the body. The cover includes at least one sealing element for preventing ingress of fluids between the cover and at least part of the medical device. The cover and the at least one sealing element, encapsulates the medical device though it's length, overlapping at least one surface hole.;The cover and the at least one sealing element are designed to isolate at least one hole from at least another holes, while enabling free passage through it, in at least partial time period in which the medical device is within the body.

A medical device for insertion into a body, the device having at least one surface covered by and attached to at least one detachable cover and at least one surface hole, the cover being detachable from the surface and removed from the body any time after the device has been inserted in the body, wherein the cover and the device are inserted in the body as a united device, such that the cover encapsulates and seals the medical device, wherein the cover can be detached and pulled off the device which remains in the body, wherein the device cannot be pulled out from the cover while the cover remains within the body, wherein the cover includes at least one sealing element for preventing ingress of fluids between the cover and at least part of the medical device; wherein the cover and the at least one sealing element, encapsulates the medical device through its length, overlapping at least one surface hole; wherein the cover and the at least one sealing element are designed to isolate at least one hole, while enabling free passage through said hole, in at least partial time period through which the medical device is within the body; wherein said medical device is selected from the group consisting of: (a) a catheter; (b) a cannula; (c) a drain; (d) a stent; (e) a pacemaker; and (f) an electrode.
