The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method to manage sales information of a vending machine in order to manage the sales of products which are not authorized in the vending machine by a comparison between image information of a sales product discharged through the discharge hole of the vending machine and reference image information of a sales product authorized to be sold in the vending machine. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the sales information management apparatus of a vending machine which discharges a sales product selected among multiple sales products to a discharge hole includes: an image acquiring unit which acquires an image of a sales product discharged to the discharge hole of the vending machine; an illuminating unit which is installed around the discharge hole in order to illuminate the sales product discharged to the discharge hole; and a processing unit which determines whether the sales product discharged to the discharge hole is normal or not by comparing the image information of the sales product acquired by the image acquiring unit with reference to image information of a sales product authorized to be sold in the vending machine. The processing unit provides a sale stopping signal for a control unit in order to stop the sale of a sales product which is sold in the vending machine in case of being determined as an abnormal product.
