PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To diagnose the abnormal heat efficiency and abnormality in circulation path of water and hot water of a hot water supplying device in a failure diagnosis supporting device having the function of communicating with the hot water supplying device. SOLUTION: A failure diagnosis supporting device 1 is connected with the control part 21 of a hot water supplying device 2 through an interface device 3 in such a manner that it can communicate with the control part 21. A sequence that is necessary for diagnosing the abnormal heat efficiency and circulation path of water and hot water of the hot water supplying device 2 is stored in the failure diagnosis supporting device 1. Operation command signals are transmitted to the hot water supplying device 2 on the basis of this sequence, or the procedure of the diagnosis is indicated on an indicating means 12. Then, the failure diagnosis supporting device 1 obtains the operating condition of the hot water supplying device 2 from communication and the input operation to an input means 14 so as to detect the presence of failures and locate the failures on the basis of the information.
