<p>Disclosed is a metal complex represented by the following formula (1).
(In the formula, M represents a metal atom; R 1 -R 8 respectively represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or a monovalent group; or alternatively R 3 and R 4 , or R 5 and R 6 may combine together to form a ring. In this connection, at least one of R 2 and R 7 is a group represented by the following formula (2):
wherein m represents an integer of 1-3; n represents an integer of 0-2; and Z 1 -Z 5 respectively represent a carbon atom or a nitrogen atom provided that at least two of Z 1 -Z 5 are nitrogen atoms.
When one of Z 1 -Z 5 is a carbon atom, the hydrogen atom bonded to the carbon atom may be substituted by a substituent. The moiety expressed by the following formula (3):
