1. A vehicle assembly comprising:
first member; a second member; and a structural mounting insert comprising: a rigid base member configured for location in a connection region between the first member and the second member, the rigid base member including a plurality of openings extending therethrough: a sealant material encased over at least a portion of the rigid base member and in the plurality of openings formed therethrough, the sealant material being formed of a pliable material, wherein, upon joining of the first member and the second member, the sealant material is configured to displace and the rigid base member provides a space between the first member and the second member, and wherein the sealant material seals the connection region between the first member and the second member so that corrosion of the connecting region between the first member and the second member is substantially limited or prevented.
