<p>The present invention relates to a high strength austenite-based steel with remarkable toughness of a welding heat-affected-zone and a method of manufacturing the same. An embodiment of the present invention provides a high strength austenite-based steel with remarkable toughness of a welding heat-affected zone, comprising 0.8 to 1.5 wt% of C, 15 to 22 wt% of Mn, 5 wt% or less of Cr (except 0), 0.01 to 0.3 wt% of Ti, and 0.003 to 0.1 wt% of N, and the remainder consisting of Fe and inevitable impurities, wherein the microstructure of a welding heat-affected zone comprises 90% or more of austenite by volume fractions, and a method of manufacturing the same. Therefore, the alloy components and composition range are effectively controlled in order to control the size of austenite grain for distributing the generation of carbon nitrides in the heat-affected-zone after the welding, thereby suppressing the formation of the carbon nitrides of a network shape. Also, the austenite-based steel can be used for a long time under corrosive environments by improving adding Cr to improve the corrosion resistance.</p> |
