<p>An image content playback apparatus according to the present invention plays package media supplied from outside. The package media include image data; image content storing playback control information for controlling a playback of the image data in a pre-determined data format; and an expanded application software using the image content. The image content playback apparatus comprises: a software stored on an internal memory to be executed, which is one operating system selected from various kinds of operating systems; a middleware which absorbs function differences corresponding to the various kinds of operating systems; and a player application which operates on the middleware and plays back image content. The middleware includes a class library having a tool, which is used by the player application to play back the package media or execute the expanded application. The player application plays back the image content using the tool included in the class library of the middleware according to a predetermined format in a unified way. The expanded application uses the image content and is executed by the tool included in the class library of the middleware.</p> |
