<p>The present invention relates to a power supply device for a computer without standby power and to a controlling method thereof, wherein power consumption is reduced by eliminating standby power output in a power supply device such as a switching mode power supply (SMPS) applied to a computer. The power supply device for a computer without standby power comprises: an auxiliary power switch for inputting a computer use signal; and a power supply device for generating standby power and supplying the standby power to a computer mainboard when the auxiliary power switch is operated, generating main power and supplying the main power together with the standby power when a request for the main power is generated from the computer mainboard, and controlling the generation of the standby power and the main power when a request for blocking the main power is generated from the computer mainboard.</p> |
