The present invention relates to path control between user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system. A method for operating UE comprises the following steps of: measuring the channel quality of a direct path to the other UE when the channel quality measurement of a direct path is requested by an upper entity; transmitting a first message including the measurement result of the channel quality to the upper entity; and setting a direct path to the other UE when a second message to order a switch to a direct path is received from the upper entity.
