DRIVING UNIT FOR RAIL VEHICLE HAVING REINFORED STRUCTURE

The present invention relates to a driving unit having a reinforcing structure for a rail vehicle. The driving unit comprises: a case having through holes formed thereon, wherein the through holes are spaced apart from each other and combined to an input shaft and an axle penetrating into the through holes, respectively; a motor which is connected to the input shaft and generates power; a pair of ring members combined to the axle and installed on the entrances of the through holes; a bearing combined to the axle; a bearing housing combined to the outer circumferences of the bearing and the case; and a protection member installed on the outer surface of the case to prevent damage to the case due gravels or foreign substances splattered by a running rail vehicle. Accordingly, the driving unit having the reinforcing structure for a rail vehicle is provided to prevent damage to the case due to the gravels or the foreign substances splattered when the rail vehicle runs.
