The present invention relates to a rotor drive system (1) and, more specifically, to a rotor drive system for a helicopter tail rotor. The system (1) includes: a stator (2) and a rotor; and the rotor is mounted on the stator (2) with a rotatable center carrier (4), and the rotor blades (5) are radially attached to the rotatable center carrier (4). Each of the rotor blades (5) can pivot about its radial central axis to change blade pitch. One or more permanent magnets (13, 14) are provided on the respective rotor blades (5) along the radius of the one or more blades, and a plurality of electromagnets (9) on the stator (2) are coaxially provided on the radius of at least one stator which is sufficiently close to the radius of at least one blade to allow an inductive interaction between one or more permanent magnets (13, 14) on the respective rotor blades (5) and the plurality of electromagnets (9). The permanent magnets (13, 14) are fixated to the rotor blades (5) lopsided from the radial central side in the direction vertical to a rotation plane (12) for individual pitch control of the rotor blades (5) by individually controlling the electromagnets (9) connected to an electrical supply means. |
