SOLUTION: This azomethine group-containing polyhydric naphthol compound represented by the general formula (1) (at least one of R1 to R7 is OH, and the others are independently H, a 1 to 4C alkyl, a 5 or 6C cycloalkyl or phenyl; X is a divalent organic group).
