摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide traffic flow simulation which is close to the actual traffic phenomenon by simulating the follow-up behavior of an individual vehicle to the preceding vehicle on a computer with high accuracy. SOLUTION: A traffic flow simulation apparatus, which simulates the behavior of a vehicle, is provided with a function of reproducing the behavior that a following vehicle travels holding such a vehicle-to-vehicle distance for which the vehicle will not collide with the preceding vehicle, when the movements of a vehicle group are reproduced. Consequently, when the movements of the vehicle group is reproduced by the traffic flow simulation device, vehicle following is prevented from colliding with the precedent vehicle owing to slow reaction, even if the precedent vehicle suddenly reduces the speed and the actual follow-up travel action is faithfully reproduced, so that the distance of the following vehicle converges on a target inter-vehicle distance. The driver behavior that the vehicle in the follow-up travel state properly increases and reduces the speed to travel holding a inter-vehicle distance for avoiding colliding with the precedent vehicle is simulated. Consequently, the travel action of an actual driver can be reproduced faithfully, and the effects of simulation of actual traffic phenomena and various traffic measures on road traffic can be evaluated easily.</p>
