PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas meter capable of sensing the leakage of gas in a moment to operate an alarm or a cutting-off valve and high in reliability from an aspect of safety. SOLUTION: In the gas meter wherein a metering film 10 is subjected to reciprocating motion by the pressure of inflow gas and the reciprocating motion of the metering film 10 is allowed to cooperate with a valve mechanism 15 through a wing shaft 14, a crank mechanism 15 and a revolving mechanism 25, the crank mechanism 15 is constituted of the large hook 16 fixed to the wing shaft at its base end part and integrally revolved along with the wing shaft and the small hook 17 connected to the large hook at its base end part in a freely revolvable manner and revolving centering around the rotary shaft 24 of the revolving mechanism at its leading end part while performing flexion and extension motion by the revolving motion of the large hook. The revolving mechanism is provided with a revolving shaft 30 revolving centering around a rotary shaft and the leading end part of the small hook is connected to the revolving shaft and a rotary disc 31 for detecting the quantity of rotation rotating centering around the rotary shaft is supported on the revolving shaft revolved by the crank mechanism.
