The binding (1) has a plate (8), and a set of boot-retaining devices that is structured and arranged to retain a boot on the plate. A set of sliding mechanisms (4a1, 4a2, 4b1, 4b2, 5a1, 5a2, 5b1, 5b2) is arranged between the plate and a gliding board (2) when mounted on the gliding board so as to enable a longitudinal movement of the plate in relation to the gliding board. The sliding mechanisms are arranged for moving the plate during a set of gliding phases so that the boot is able to shift in relation to the longitudinal position during a sporting activity i.e. alpine skiing. |
