<p>The present invention describes a novel material of fly ash, having a light weight, able to reduce the dead loads, which is mainly linked to the construction field by the industrial residue know as fly ash. The obtention method does not require retained air, a chemical agent (foaming agent) or any aggregate of light weight (density < 0.1 kg/cm3). The light material of fly ash results from a thermal treatment, in a wide range of temperatures (of from about 100 - 1400 °C) performed to a cementing composition of fly ash, which is integrated by an industrial residue, such as fly ash and a chemical alkaline solution of silica under alkaline conditions pH> 7 through the sol-gel method. This light material of fly ash has a compression resistance higher than 100 kg/ cm2 and has a density higher than 1500 kg/m3, therefore this material being able to reduce the dead loads in the construction, mainly slabs and roofs. In addition, the invention is operated as a refractory material since it is abl e to resist high temperatures of up to 1600°C.</p> |
