A method for generating and verifying signature information for data authentication and a system for the same are proposed. More particularly, provided is a method for generating signature information for data segments, which forms a merkle hash tree (MHT) for a predetermined number of data segments, associates a root hash value of the MHT with trapdoor hash values for the data segments, relates hash values of the MHT and the trapdoor hash values to the data segments, and transmits the data segments to a receiver.
