<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable digital information reproducing device capable of easily reproducing a file reproduced just before a battery is exchanged without providing any resume function and a method for controlling this portable digital information reproducing device. SOLUTION: This portable digital information reproducing device 10 for reading digital information from a recording medium in which a file is stored in a tree-shaped array directory is provided with a residual battery detecting means 23 connected to a system control means 19 and a reproduction file selecting means 21 for selecting a file to be read by an information reading means 11 according to the output of the residual battery detecting means 23. The reproduction file selecting means 21 selects the file stored in the route directory of the recording medium, and reproduces the selected file when the residual capacity of the battery is not more than a prescribed value. Thus, it is possible to easily retrieve the file in the route directory, and to reproduce the file again after the battery is exchanged.</p> |
