SWITCHING SYSTEM AND CELL SWITCHING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching system and a cell switching method capable of reducing inter-connection traffic interference by preventing the unnecessary abandonment of cells. SOLUTION: The storage volume of ATM cells in outgoing buffers 22 and 23 are monitored. When the storage volume exceed a prescribed volume, first congestion notification is outputted, and the storage volume of the ATM cells in a connection queue 27 is monitored. When the storage volume exceeds the prescribed volume, second congestion notification is outputted. Then, the abandonment control of the ATM cells is executed based on the first and second congestion notification.
