PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a platemaking method of a photosensitive lithographic printing plate capable of improving edge fouling caused by adhesion of ink onto the end of a printing plate, when performing lithographic printing on a wider paper than the width of the printing plate. ! SOLUTION: In a platemaking method of a photosensitive lithographic printing plate having a photosensitive layer on an aluminum support, for manufacturing a printing plate for performing lithographic printing on a wider paper than the width of the printing plate by using neutral dampening water, after exposing the aluminum support surface by exposing and developing the photosensitive lithographic printing plate, a plate surface protection agent containing at least malonic acid and/or citric acid is imparted onto the aluminum support surface. !
