摘要 Systems and methods for determining mechanical properties of a biological tissue in a subject are provided. A low coherence optical interferometer detects waves generated from a surface of a tissue in a subject. The waves are generated from elastographic deformation of the tissue induced by an impulse stimulation. Phase velocities can then be determined from the waves, and elastographic properties from the phase velocities, including an elasticity value for a portion of the surface of the tissue.
