PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical component which suppresses loss and reflection at an optically connected part with a simple and small structure. SOLUTION: The optical component 1 having an optical waveguide is a single mode optical waveguide having an input part and an output part of light in the vicinity of the end part of the optical waveguide and is provided with at least one optical waveguide structure 1-1 having a part 1-3a to which a light field incompatible with a transmission mode is made incident and a part 1-1a which has a prescribed length and adjusts the field diameter and the phase of an emitting light.
