A porous polytetrafluoroethylene film comprising a fluorine resin having polytetrafluoroethylene as the principal component thereof, wherein the total surface area of the resin fibers included per section having a surface area of 1m2 and a thickness of 25μm is 4000m2 or higher, and the melting peak of the film is 333°C or lower.
