A bicycle pedal assembly of the present invention to drive a bicycle comprises: a driving sprocket in which a driving shaft is mounted in the center and which transfers the rotatory power to a driven sprocket through a chain engaged in a saw blade of the edge; a crank arm fixed to the driving sprocket and hinge-coupled with one end of a connecting rod; a rod bar hinge-coupled in the other end of the connecting rod; and a pedal hinge-coupled in the end of the rod bar, in which the crank arm and the connecting rod and the rod bar are mounted in left and right of the driving sprocket, wherein the crank arm on the left and right side is combined in the opposite location each other. Accordingly, a pedal controlling part of a recumbent bicycle is disposed at the upper portion than the center of gravity of a passenger so that the moving efficiency of a rectilinear reciprocation type pedal control mode which is backward and forward alternately stepped increases and the bicycle is lightened by a simple structure.
