The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for tracking an object by using a stereo camera. The apparatus according to the present invention comprises: a first camera taking a first image of a front portion of a vehicle; a second camera which zooms in or out a specific area of the first image to take a second image; a driving control unit which controls zooming of the second camera according to a set coefficient of the second camera, when the first and second cameras are driven; and a tracking unit which tracks an object around the vehicle from the first image and the second image taken by the first camera and the second camera, respectively, according to the control of the driving control unit. |
