PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single crystal body manufacturing method which can manufacture a thick single crystal more easily than a conventional solid phase growth method and which can also be applied to a composition system hard to acquire a material molten liquid.SOLUTION: A single crystal body manufacturing method comprises: a step of preparing either an oriented molding composed of polycrystalline particles and oriented in a specific face or an oriented sintered body obtained by sintering said oriented molding, and a seed substrate made of a substrate of a single crystal or a substrate filmed of a single crystal layer; and a step of holding the oriented molding or the oriented sintered molding and the seed substrate in close contact thereby to cause a solid phase reaction by a heat treatment so that a single crystal body is manufactured. |
