PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus for realizing a digital mirror which when displaying an image especially from the back when a user uses the apparatus, reduces discomfort felt by the user.SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus comprises: a moving image input unit (102) which receives a moving image (110) of a user obtained from a visual sensor; an operation input unit (101) which receives user operation for acquiring a moving image of the user obtained from a predetermined orientation; a mirror image or normal image determination unit (103) which determines whether to display the acquired moving image as a mirror image or a normal image, on the basis of the user operation; an image generation unit (104) which generates the mirror image or the normal image from the acquired moving image on the basis of the determination; and an output unit (105) which outputs to a display apparatus (120) the generated mirror image or normal image.
