PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing apparatus configured to prevent a rear end part of a recording medium having passed through a nip part from moving toward a heating rotating body, thereby preventing an image defect at a low cost.SOLUTION: A fixing apparatus 6 includes: a heating fixing belt (rotating body) 61a which forms a nip part N for holding and conveying a sheet M, and is arranged on an image-formation surface side of the sheet M where an unfixed toner image is formed; an air supplying unit 62 which is arranged downstream of the nip part N in a conveyance direction of the sheet M and sprays a gas toward a rear end part of the sheet M from the image-formation surface side of the sheet M; and a control unit which controls the air supplying unit 62 so as to spray the gas toward the rear end part of the sheet M immediately after the rear end part of the sheet M conveyed through the nip part N passes through the nip part N at least. |
