PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a grain-oriented electrical steel sheet subjected to addition of nitrogen to a steel sheet before secondary recrystallization to form silicon nitride which reduces the slant Cube orientation by adjusting a hot rolling step and adding a recrystallization step so as to obtain a grain-oriented electrical steel sheet good in magnetic characteristics.SOLUTION: A steel slab of a specified composition is optionally re-heated, then rolled to a sheet thickness of 4 mm or smaller under specified conditions after or in ordinary hot rolling by using a rolling machine having a n-step rolling stand, formed into a cold rolled sheet of a final sheet thickness by annealing and rolling, subjected to a nitriding treatment to a nitrogen weight increase of 50-1,000 mass ppm during or after primary recrystallization annealing, applied with an annealing separator and subjected to secondary recrystallization annealing. |
