PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club shaft in which stress concentration generated in near the border between a part where an inner hole section is polygonal and a part where an inner hole section is circular is alleviated and a golf club using the same.SOLUTION: There is a golf club shaft 2 which is produced with prepregs 11 to 16 that are wound on a periphery of a mandrel 1 and are cured. The grip side of the mandrel 1 is a hexagonal part 1a, and its border with the adjacent straight part 1b is a transition part 1e gradually reducing the outer diameter. The edge part 1j of the hexagonal part 1a may be in curved.
