The invention relates to the field of polymer material science and to the production of a structural polymeric composite wear resistant material based on ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, which can be used for making wear resistant liners for cladding ore-dressing and mining equipment. The composition comprises ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene and an inorganic filler. Shredded basalt fibre is used as an inorganic modifier. The composition according to the invention makes it possible to increase the toughness and wear resistance of the starting material.
