PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking assist system that prevents overheat of a motor, which is used to assist in steering, from occurring when a traveling route has a large number of turns.SOLUTION: A parking assist system that assists in steering includes parking space detection means that detects a parking space, parking route calculation means that calculates a parking route along which a vehicle is moved to a target parking position after moving from a predetermined parking initiation position to the parking space and making turns in the parking space, turning initiation position determining means that determines a turning initiation position for turning, which is performed at a position at which advancing and backing are switched, at a position preceding the position at which advancing and backing are switched, and steering control means that controls steering means on the basis of the parking route and initiates turning at the turning initiation position. |
