Disclosed in the present invention are a cross-platform network interaction method, and a reader and network server therefor. The cross-platform network interaction method reads and identifies coded patterns by means of the reader, then over a network associates said patterns with network server resources and displays said resources on a smart display terminal; the smart display terminal can then conduct bidirectional real-time communication over the network with the network server. The reader has an Internet namespace and a corresponding unique service address. The implementation method for the present cross-platform network interaction crosses platforms to obtain network resources; the user requires only a simple book carrying invisible code and a matching reader to be able to access a vast amount of network resources, and is able to display said resources on any desired smart display terminal, play interactive games, conduct payment transactions, et cetera, thus enjoying an enhanced user experience and lower costs.
