<p>The present invention relates to a device and a method to recognize an object. The device of the present invention carries out an image preprocessing process to respectively detect a horizontal line and an object in a photographed image, and detects the horizontal line and at least one object from the image which has gone through the image preprocessing process; and the device selects at least one valid object among at least one object based on the detected horizontal line and matches the selected valid object with an automatic identification system (AIS) data including a prestored location information of vessels to extract a final object. According to the present invention, the device is able to match AIS data with an image of a proceeding direction of a vessel to select objects such as a target or the like with high accuracy, and provide a user with the distance, angle, etc. of the selected object such that the user can easily identify whether the object exists or not. Also, the device provides the user with the image of the object matched with the AIS data, thereby providing stable sailing even in near miss or bad weather due to a weather like a fog which makes visibility unstable.</p> |
