<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for preventing self-steering due to a wrong connection of a clutch in a steer-by-wire system.SOLUTION: A steer-by-wire type vehicle steering device 1 includes: a steering part 20 which includes a steering reaction force actuator 18; a turning part 50 which includes a turning actuator 44; and a backup mechanism 22 which couples or decouples the steering part 20 and turning part 50. The vehicle steering device 1 makes maximum torque which can be transmitted by the steering reaction force actuator 18 through the backup mechanism 22 larger than maximum torque which can be transmitted by the turning actuator 44 through the backup mechanism 22. Here, a control unit 60 may set maximum torque that the turning actuator 44 can generate according to a vehicle state.</p> |
