The objective of the present invention is to provide an information maintenance medium and an information processing system capable of reducing the number of false recognition. An information processing system (1) includes an information maintenance medium (2) and an information reading device (3). The information maintenance medium (2) has a two-dimensional array of unit information units (11). On a part of the unit information units (11), marks (13) for forming digital codes are formed. The mark patterns in the X-direction permutations of columns of two adjacent unit information units are different. The information reading device (3) generates information columns based on a unit signal group of which a unit is a plurality of signals outputted while being synchronized to the group of a detection unit (21) to detect the marks (13) and recognizes digital codes of the information maintenance medium (2) based on the group of the information columns acquired from the array of the unit information units (11) in order. |
