PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carburization method capable of performing a high-temperature rapid carburization treatment by suppressing generation of soot, and by using gas for carburization containing a high concentration of carbon monoxide. ! SOLUTION: In a carburization method, hydrocarbon gas and oxygen gas are introduced into a combustion chamber 10, while forming a swirling flow, and the hydrocarbon and oxygen are burned as a swirling flow flame in the combustion chamber 10 to produce mixed gas containing carbon monoxide and hydrogen, and the mixed gas is introduced into a carburization furnace 3 as atmospheric gas for carburization and subjected to a carburization treatment. !
