PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote controller that has good operability and is able to stably perform operations for enlarging/reducing an image and moving a cursor. ! SOLUTION: A remote controller 1 comprises: a touch sensor 12; a gyro sensor that detects the movement of the body of the remote controller 1 and also outputs a signal for moving a pointing cursor shown on a display 3 on an STB 2 side according to a detected movement; a transmitting unit that transmits a signal output from the gyro sensor, to the STB 2; and cursor nullifying means that nullifies movement of the pointing cursor shown on the display 3 in response to a specific operation of a user. When movement of the pointing cursor is nullified by the cursor movement nullifying means, the transmission unit transmits, on the basis of a slide operation by the touch sensor 12, an enlargement/reduction signal for enlarging/reducing an image 30 shown on the display 3. !
