PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a degree of display uniformity in sub-field driving.SOLUTION: An electro-optic device 1 includes: a pixel Px including a liquid crystal element CL; and a display control unit 100 which generates a data signal VD designating an ON or OFF state of the pixel Px based on an image signal Din designating a gradation to be displayed by the pixel Px, which divides a display period T into a plurality of sub-field periods SF, of the display period T and a reset period R that are alternately arranged on a temporal axis, and which supplies the data signal VD to the pixel Px in each of the subfield periods SF. The display control unit 100 generates the data signal VD to be supplied to the pixel Px in one display period T in such a manner that whichever gradation is designated by the image signal Din as a gradation to be displayed by the pixel Px in the one display period T, the transmittance of the liquid crystal element CL at an end time of one reset period R subsequent to the one display period T is equal to or more than a first value Bmin that is larger than a minimum transmittance that can be achieved by the liquid crystal element CL.
