PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform preview display of an image expected to be output in a receiver, before establishing communication.SOLUTION: When receiving an instruction to perform facsimile transmission of a manuscript to a designated destination; creation means 11 creates an image formation parameter for a preview image from an image formation parameter stored in association with the destination in storage means 10 and an image formation parameter included in the instruction, before originating a call to the destination. The creation means 11 creates the preview image by using the image formation parameter. The preview image is an image which is expected to be output in a facsimile receiver. Display means 13 displays a character and an image. Display control means 14 makes the display means 13 display the preview image created by using the parameter created by the creation means 11.
