摘要 A rechargeable lithium battery that includes: a negative electrode including a negative active material, and a positive electrode including a positive active material and activated carbon. When the positive active material includes a lithium nickel-based oxide, a lithium cobalt-based oxide, a lithium manganese-based oxide, a lithium titanium-based oxide, a lithium nickel manganese-based oxide, a lithium nickel cobalt manganese-based oxide, a lithium nickel cobalt aluminum-based oxide, or a combination thereof, the average particle diameter of the activated carbon is greater than about 100% and less than about 1000% of the average particle diameter of the positive active material. When the positive active material includes a lithium iron phosphate-based compound, the average particle diameter of the activated carbon is greater than or equal to about 1000% and less than or equal to about 3000% of the average particle diameter of the positive active material.
