The invention relates to a device (7) and a method for setting a press-in element (3) into a workpiece (1) at a predetermined location. The device comprises: a main body (8); a fixing unit (12), which is attached to the main body (8) and which is designed to fix the workpiece (1); and a processing unit (10), which is attached to the main body (8) and comprises: a boring unit (16), which is designed to create a bore in the workpiece (1) fixed by the fixing unit (12); and a press-in unit (18), which is designed to press a press-in element (3) into the bore. The method comprises the following steps: a) fixing the workpiece (1), b) creating a bore in the workpiece (1), c) positioning a press-in element (3) over the bore, and d) pressing the press-in element (3) into the bore, wherein a single device (7), which combines in itself the functions required for implementing steps a) to d), is used to carry out the method. |
