A light collecting device and a display device, the light collecting device comprising: a light gathering component (1) and a light guiding component (2); the light gathering component (1) is used for gathering light projected on the surface thereof; the light guiding component (2) is used for collecting the light gathered by the light gathering component (1) and guiding the light out of a light exit (22) of the light guiding component (2) to form a light source. The light collecting device and the display device can improve the backlight luminance of a display screen without an increase in backlight power consumption.
