PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor that has satisfactory magnetic characteristics without degrading the characteristics even in a case where a core has a slide face formed by sliding over a die, and to provide a manufacturing method for it.SOLUTION: A reactor comprises: a plurality of leg parts 11; a core part 10 formed from a pair of yoke parts 12 connecting both ends of each of the leg parts 11; and a coil 20 attached to at least part of the core part 10. The leg parts 11 and yoke parts 12 are composed of compressed powder magnetic core obtained by press molding soft magnetic powder. Each yoke part 12 has a substantially flat face formed by pressing, and a slide face formed by sliding over a die. The substantially flat face includes a face 12a connected to the leg parts 11. Each yoke part 12 is arranged such that the face 12a connected to the leg part 11 is orthogonal to the direction of the shaft around which coil 20 is wound.
