The invention relates to a protective device for displays having a protective film, and to a method for applying said film on a display. At least on one side, the protective film and the support of the protective film are made, or are suitable tailored, to exactly match the corresponding side of the display to be protected. Further application aids provided in form of at least one adhesive element are applied to said side of the protective film, and after perfect positioning of the protective film, are fixed on the object to be protected by attaching the adhesive element to the device having the display. Thus, a hinge-like attachment of the protective film including the support to the display to be protected is achieved. The protective film, together with the support, can then be unfolded, and the support can be pulled off. Subsequently, the protective film is folded back into the previously fixed, exact position on the display to be protected, and is fixed in place there. |
